“Changes Happen All the Time”
Changes to the business environment such as diversified market needs, rapid advances in technology, globalization of the market, and more cooperative activities between private and public sectors have forced us to rethink our perspective of what goes on in the “day-to-day” of business.
As companies face these changes to the market and the competitive environment – as well as how businesses themselves are run – professionals involved with people development are increasingly being asked to come up with ideas for developing their people in closer alignment with the actual business drivers and strategies, becoming a real partner to the business, and not only a supporting role.

For this Impact Open Forum, we have invited Mr. Roy White, Senior Vice-President of Global Sales & Marketing Operations for Sony Europe, who will share his thoughts on Sony’s global strategy and “the role of how people development fits as a partner to the business.”
In the second half of the forum, Roy will talk about the challenges faced by Sony Europe when they looked at how they conducted their training, and the challenges and decision making process he faced as they worked to get to what they are implementing today.

In addition, Dave Williams, Founder and Managing Director of Impact International, will come to Japan for the forum and will act as the moderator. Dave will help Roy draw out his thoughts and lead the dialog to create a common value on “how people development should happen to survive through these changing times.”
